gematria is a method of assigning numerical value to letters of the Hebrew alphabet, and has been used for centuries as a way of unlocking hidden spiritual truths. It is commonly used in Jewish mysticism and esoteric Kabbalah, and can also be seen in ancient Greek, Latin, and other languages. The numerical values assigned to each letter are based on the numerical equivalence between names, words, phrases, or other ideas. In addition to reading the meaning of words or phrases, gematria can also be used to calculate the numerical value of a name or date of birth.

One way to read gematria is by assigning numerical values to each letter in a word or phrase. In Hebrew, Aleph (א) corresponds with 1; Bet (ב) equals 2; Gimmel (ג) is 3; Dalet (ד) is 4; He (ה) corresponds with 5; Vav (ו) is 6, and so on through the entirety of the Hebrew alphabet. Once each letter has been given a numerical equivalent it can then be added together to uncover the total numerical value for that word or phrase.

For example: if you take the Hebrew spelling for "God" (אלוהים), each letter's numerical equivalent would be calculated as follows:  Aleph = 1 + Lamed = 30 + Vav = 6 + He = 5 + Yod = 10 + Mem = 40 = 92. This means that God carries an intrinsic numeric power within its Hebrew spelling that adds up to 92 - something that can be used for divination and meditation purposes in order to gain insight into its spiritual essence.

Another example could include taking a person's name - let's say their name was "Benjamin" - and finding its corresponding numeric value. To do this one would assign numbers to each letter beginning with B - 2 - then continuing through E=5, N=50, J=10 etc., all four until finished equations out such as follows: 2+5+50+6+40+10+50=163. This means that Benjamin's core numerically derived power would vibrate at 163 when translated via Gematria.
